Once somewhat unusual partnerships between fast food chains and snack makers are popping up on every corner in 2022.
Only since the beginning of spring have we seen Krispy Kreme (DNUT) – Get the Krispy Kreme, Inc. report. and Cinnamon Toast Crunch by General Mills GIS, Pepsi (PKP) – Get the PepsiCo, Inc. report.with pizza flavor and Buffalo Wild Wings BWLD sauce made with Frito-Lay’s Doritos chips.
Chips, in particular, go great with other crunchy, crunchy, and greasy dishes.
The snack/junk food phenomenon began when Yum! Taco Bell brands owned by YUM started the Doritos Locos Tacos craze.
Newest collaboration sweet not salty
The latest chain to look to the snack department for inspiration is Sonic, owned by Inspire Brands INSP.

Originally called Mars Men when they hit the scene in the 1970s, the gummies are coated with citric acid-infused sugar to make the candy “sour then sweet”.
The sweet treat, called Sour Patch Kids Slush Float, is a mix of vanilla ice cream and Sonic’s watermelon porridge.
The topping is the Sour Patch Kids best known and loved.
Slush starts at $2.99 and comes in mimi, small, medium, and large sizes.

It will be available at Sonic Stores from May 30 to July 31 or until stocks run out.
In a normal attempt by the networks to get people to use it, those who download the Sonic app will be able to order slush a week early starting May 23rd.
“Our Sonic fans always look forward to our summer Slush Float offerings, and this year we’re once again introducing a refreshing, coveted treat that provides an exciting new twist, including the iconic Sour Patch Kids candy,” Mackenzie Gibson, Vice President. culinary and menu innovations at Sonic, the statement said.
