One of Canada’s Best Restaurants Opens Delicious Bakery

Award-winning restaurant and winery Pearl Morissette has announced the official opening of the new RPM Bakehouse at 3839 Main Street at Jordan Station, Ontario. Part of the Pearl Morissette Estate Pearl Morissette Winery and Restaurant, RPM Bakehouse shares the values of authenticity, curiosity, honesty and a focus on performance.

Cereals at RPM Bakehouse are an obsession. The flour used is considered a unique and noble ingredient and is at the heart of much of what RPM Bakehouse produces. Developing relationships with farmers and millers, RPM Bakehouse focuses on cherished techniques for slowly fermented starters and sweet and savory baked goods. The bakery will engage the community in understanding and celebrating heritage grains that are grown, ground and baked on site.

RPM Bakehouse is both a bakery and a cafe, a general store where you can buy a variety of takeaway products, including pastries, homemade juices, Pearl Morissette wines and coffees from Canadian roasters. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere from morning to night, where guests can enjoy casual sit-down meals made with ingredients sourced from inspiring independent producers, including the Pearl Morissette Garden and the nearby regenerative farm.

From Thursday to Sunday, guests can pick up pastries, wines, seasonal products and other takeaways. Alternatively, guests can grab a bite to eat and a glass of Pearl Morissette wine on the cozy front patio, complete with a fire pit and heaters, creating an al fresco winter retreat.

Pearl Morissette Estate Winery was founded in 2007 by François Morissette and Mel Pearl as a small winery with an uncompromising vision that values a traditional approach to winemaking. In its short history, the company has built a reputation in Canada and abroad as a producer of top quality wines based on a philosophy of minimal intervention. In 2017, the winery became home to the Pearl Morissette restaurant, which shares a holistic approach to regenerative practices and processes and a commitment to world-class quality. The RPM Bakehouse is the latest addition to the Pearl Morissette estate, built on the same founding principles of a pragmatic approach to finding what nature intended.

In addition to the recent opening of the RPM Bakehouse, Pearl Morissette is celebrating its 15th anniversary this July and they are launching four brand new wines to celebrate. Pearl Morissette also just announced Pearl Morissette’s Garden Pearl Morissette wine tasting and tour bookings for this summer.

“One of our greatest joys at Pearl Morissette is sharing our wines with our customers, telling the stories behind each of these bottles and welcoming you into our world face to face, glass to glass. It is in this spirit that we would like to invite you to an intimate and exclusive one-hour conversation and tasting, introducing everyone to the wines, discussing our approach to each vintage and the principle of our viticulture and winemaking. Every wine starts with agriculture. Viticulture is agriculture. Diversity is paramount. Over the past few years, we have been working to create gardens on our property with the aim of not only enriching our natural environment, but also connecting with nature in many ways…

On this tour, you’ll discover and learn about this important aspect of our estate by visiting our annual vegetable garden and flower garden, as well as our quaint perennial and herbal patch, rich in culinary curiosities and local beauties. Navigating tall grass and wild flowers, past bees, chickens and ducks, this experience is a window into the world of our gardeners and farmers and the bounty of our region. Tastings are held indoors with sufficient space. More information is available on the website.
